My school in a nutshell: They ask me to offer an afterschool class. I accept. The class is cancelled because not enough students signed up. No one bothers to tell me it was cancelled.
I don't even get angry anymore, I just sigh, unsurprised.

today my co-teacher told me that since there was a mock test, i wouldn't have my 3rd grade classes. i got all excited and ready to go and do something fun with matt during the day and then at 11:00 sharp my 3rd grade class showed up. i was so disappointed.
the point of this being, i feel your pain. or in this case, your ambivalence.
